Here, with 25 dancers at Sergels Torg, Stockholm, on 15 October 1999, as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of Kulturhuset. Also performed at Björkanderska Magasinet in Visby harbour during the Baltic Dance and Performance Festival in July 1999; at Stora Torget in Uppsala on 23 October 1999; at Rådhustorget in Umeå; and at Stora Torget in Sundsvall in 2000.
A ceremony celebrating female power. Originally commissioned by and performed at The Museum of Modern Art, Stockholm, 1995.
Twenty five dancers dressed in white frocks with long sleeves walk into a wide circle of barrels of water and steaming steel plates. There they meet in divine lunacy as the beating of the barrels increases into a rhythmical ecstasy of fire, water and dance. The strange ritual they perform is as full of sadness as with fury.
